A new marriage is a difficult period for any young couple. Yet it has little chance of surviving when its fledgling evolvement is laid bare for the consumption of the masses.

The only reason Jessica and Nick lasted three entire years is that they were not around each other for nearly half of it. A second’s glance at their tacky reality show displayed a spoilt, immature ditz rising to stardom hitched to an older, spiteful has-been whose growing impatience with his wife’s lack of brain cells was painfully evident. It was a recipe for divorce if ever there was one.

As soon as the wedding night had ended, Nick had to relize that marrying a dumb, blonde Daddy’s-girl just for a chance at some unsullied pussy had not been the brightest of ideas. That’s what happens when one thinks with the wrong head, Nicky-boy. The look of "this was so not worth it" was plastered on Nick's face for the duration of "Newlyweds". Is it any wonder he started slinking off to Vegas titty bars within the first year?

Jessica's part in the break-up is easy to see. She is too pampered and immature to be entering into any kind of serious commitment with anyone. Unless she matures considerably, and soon, the only man that will be able to stand her for any length of time will be her batty father.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey made a foolish choice when they decided to air their private lives and budding marriage for the world to see. One has to wonder if they feel it was worth it.
